Amethyst Mala- 108 Beads

This mala is made from amethyst beads. Each bead is 6 mm wide. There are three small counting beads on this mala, and each counting bead is 3 mm. There is also a large 7mm counting bead in the center of this mala near the tassel. The tassel and the counting beads are both there to guide rotations around the mala. There are 108 beads on this mala. The number 108 was originally significant in Hinduism and was later passed on to Buddhism. There are many reasons for why there are 108 beads on a mala, one reason is that there are 12 astrological houses, and 9 planets in the solar system. This amethyst mala was handmade in Nepal.
