Mandala, The Mystical Diagram of Hinduism, by J.R. Santiago is a great read for learning about Mandalas. Mandalas, their complicated nature and their uses in meditation are addressed in this book. Though it does come at it from a Hindu view- this book is beneficial to Buddhists as well, and is one of the very few book out there on Mandalas.
