Product Description

The meaning of the name Vairocana is, 'he who is like the sun." Vairochana is the first of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas and is the originator of the Dyyani Buddhas. By meditating on Vairochana we can become wiser and we are on the path to enlightenment. Vairocana resides in the Akanistha heaven. He is usually white, but can also be depicted as blue. The Vairocana Buddha has a specific hand gesture (which is called a mudra), which is the dharmachakra mudra. To make this mudra, you connect together your first finger and your thumb in a circle. The dharma wheel is the symbol of Vairocana. The mantra of Vairochana is 'Om Vairocana Om" and in this thangka he has four faces. This thangka is 34 inches long and 20 inches wide. This thangka was made in Nepal.
