Akshobhya Buddha Thangka Mounted on BrocadeProduct DescriptionOne of the five Dhyana Buddhas, Akshobhya Buddha was a monk who vowed never to get angry with another being during his lifetime. He was, astonishingly, able to keep this vow, and he eventually became a Buddha. Akshobhya is generally depicted as being blue in color, but he occasionally is depicted in gold. Akshobhya's mudra is the earth-touching mudra. In his left hand, Akshobhya holds a vajra (dorje). The mantra for Akshobhya is Om, Akshobhya Hum. This thangka is mounted on brocade and it is 34 inches long (including the brocade) and 24 inches wide. This thangka was made in Nepal. |
