Bhaisajyaguru, The Medicine Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru, is the Buddha of healing. Bhaisajyaguru represents the healing aspect of the Buddha Shakyamuni. The Medicine Buddha's color is lapis lazuli blue. In his hand The Medicine Buddha holds a sprig of cherubic Myrobalan, which is a classic herb used in Tibetan medicine. Tibetan medicine upholds that there are three different types of illness, those that stem from passion, aggression, and ignorance. In the Medicine Buddha's left hand he holds an ambrosia plant, the three types of which resurrect the dead, counteracts aging, and increases knowledge.
